I provide photography and videography services to international humanitarian organizations, theaters, musicians, dancers, and private clients across the globe.

I started my career in photography as a social photojournalist in 2008, right upon graduating from the Faculty of Photojournalism.

Since 2013 I have been applying my journalistic skills to humanitarian photography, performing arts photography, and documentary filmmaking.

I live near Jerusalem, Israel.

In my free time, I like to play guitar and drums, write songs, and walk in the forest.

Testimonials

Clients and colleagues say they like the whole collaboration experience, not just the photographs

Humanitarian organizations

“Arik Shraga's photography is powerful and visceral. With a single image, he can capture the entire inner life of a subject. His photos of children and elderly across the former Soviet Union have garnered wide acclaim from audiences in Israel and the United States.

Arik's talent for capturing the richness of Jewish life in the Diaspora is reminiscent of Roman Vishniac.

Arik is a pleasure to work with, and his photography elicits pride and excitement from all who are fortunate enough to view his work.”

— Davida Kutscher, Director of Donor Relations, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Israel

“Our social media coordinator had just passed along some of Arik Shraga’s recent projects to me — she’d sent them because of how amazing she thought they were, and I totally agreed. We’d LOVE to get more of his stuff because it's definitely amazing and we’d definitely use them!”

“We were just marveling at Arik’s overall presentation. And I’m sure it could melt anyone’s heart — I used to work on surgical unit and spent my teen years on an Indian reservation, so it takes a bit to shock or move me…”

There are great stories! The personal details, observations from Arik’s visits that we cannot infer, information putting their situation in a broader societal context, help us paint a picture of who these people are and make our audience feel connected to them.”

— Content Team, International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. USA

Performing arts clients

“Working with Arik for me mainly is about working with another artist that can complete your fantasy, willingly listening to what you need to create as an idea and make it as advanced visually and as gorgeous as it may be.

There’s joy in working with Arik because he is a partner in your game of creativity. He has the ability to hear your vision. He is flexible and open to anything you may come up with in the process.

— Vitaly Azarin. DAVAI Theater Group, Founder. Israel

The session with Arik was full of creativity and fun. I felt comfortable and relaxed during the work, which is so important for the actor's headshot.

Arik sensitively knew how to "bring out" vivid, surprising and exciting moments from me.

— Daniel Engel, actor. Israel

“Arik Shraga made amazing work, we were all stunned by it. He was very quick in editing and delivering photos. He is very passionate about arts, theater and also very gifted.

We are totally enthusiastic about working with Arik. We already made about three or four projects together. It’s always fun, he always finds amazing shots whenever there is something good going on, and when there is something missing he comes up with great ideas.

By all means, he is a great theater and documentary photographer and gifted videographer with a musical ear which is a great bonus.

Five stars!”

— Fyodor Makarov, Theater maker, clown. Israel

The photo session with Arik was a special and wonderful experience.

I come from the world of theater, so it’s hard for me to stand in front of the camera and pose without moving, this feels forced and a bit awkward. I think Arik recognized it in the first minutes of the session.

We were chatting, laughing, creating characters on the go, inventing stories and monologues - Arik’s accurate directing was hitting the goal precisely. The atmosphere in the studio was wonderful, and suddenly the shoot didn’t feel awkward at all — I felt no restraints.

The resulting pictures came out stunning!

Private clients

“I've worked with Arik for nearly 8 years in his capacity as JDC's humanitarian photographer, so when the time came for me to get married, there was only one photographer I wanted to capture that day. Of course, every frame was perfect; every photo captured a special moment and all the joy and excitement of the day. Not only did Arik bring out the best in every single guest, he also went above and beyond the call of duty in every way conceivable - he captured our beloved corner flower seller as he was making our bouquet (!), he had a stunning slide show ready for our sheva brachot 36 hours after the wedding (!) and perhaps most incredible of all, he presented us with a stunning, hand-made, engraved wooden box for our photos (!), which every guest to our home marvels over.

Arik is not only a talented photographer, he is an artist and a craftsman who imbues every frame with beauty and heart.”

“I loved working with Arik as a photographer.  Besides the fact that his photos capture "the moment" in the most moving way possible, he is an absolute pleasure to work with.  He goes with the flow and works with you in the situation.  All of our absolute BEST family photos are from him and we would never consider using anyone else.  I highly, highly recommend using him if you are lucky enough to do so!   I can promise you will get photos that you will cherish!  If you want to reach out to me to hear anything else, please feel free to do so.”

“A rare photographer! Never in my life I could imagine that a photo session can bring so much joy and fun!”

“I would like to recommend photographer Arik Shraga who accompanied us all evening of the bar mitzvah of our son Ariel.

Arik not only showed up at the very beginning of the event and stayed till the end, he also came a few days earlier, to get to know us and explore the venue. He came up with ideas for interesting photos.

He was pleasant, involved in the event, and collaborated with anyone who wanted to be photographed. He also initiated photos and angles of his own and fitted in great at the event, to the delight of the entire family and guests.

The results were the following: we received fantastic, professional, sharp and quality photographs. The whole family was excited to see the impressive photos and we as a family got a great souvenir from the event.

Thanks, Arik!!!
